A traffic accident took the lives of three teenagers near West Point, Nebraska on Tuesday afternoon.

The crash involved a car and a semi tractor-trailer.

According to the Cuming County Sheriff's office, James Sell, 18, of Oakland, was driving westbound on a county road, and Derek Hultquist, 17, of West Point, and William Peterson Jr., 15, of Oakland were passengers.

Sell ran a stop sign and hit the northbound semi, officials said.

All three teens died at the scene. The truck driver, Ronald Throener of West Point, was not hurt.
