The top 40 bull riders in the world are in Omaha this weekend. Putting life and limb on the line is no joke in this sport. For one clown, he's happy to be back in the ring after taking his health by the horns.
It is not first place you would expect to find a heart attack survivor. "Believe me, I think that too but this what I do, my doctor cleared me told me it was ok," says Flint Rasmussen.
Rasmussen is making only his second appearance after a heart attack March 11th. "Being pretty careful, monitoring my heart rate feel good today, so that's a good thing," he says.
But when you're an eight time rodeo clown of the year, one look at your adversary and you know your job description is a little different. "When I'm entertaining the crowd in the dirt, there's a lot going on out here, I have to make it fun while the whole time watching my back," he says.
Because a two thousand pound bull is not something you take lightly. "It's a little like playing a football game, if that's all you think about then something is going to happen," he explains.
Fifteen years ago it was a dare by family members that got the now 41 year old, former school teacher into the arena. Rasmussen wouldn't have it any other way. "If somebody would have told me at 19 or 20 years old that I would be make this kind of living I'm making going to beautiful facilities like this entertaining crowds...no crazy"
The professional bull riding tournament starts at eight o'clock tonight at the Qwest. Saturday the action starts again at 7:30 p-m. Tickets range in price from 10 dollars up to 100 dollars -- and can be bought at the Qwest or Ticketmaster
