Lincoln police have arrested a 36-year-old man accused of trying to sell drugs to middle school students.
Police say the students told a school official that an unknown man approached them on school grounds around 5 p.m. Tuesday asking if they wanted to get high.
Once police arrived, the children pointed out Tony Ryan Rutt, a transient.
An officer found a prescription bottle in Rutt's backpack. The bottle contained a drug used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
Police say Rutt stole the drugs from a family member and planned to sell them for $10 a pill.
He was cited and jailed on suspicion of possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver.
