Driver Hurt in Semi Crash
One person was injured in the crash of a semi tractor-trailer around two o'clock Thursday afternoon. The crash briefly closed the I-80 on-ramp from L Street.
It appears the semi driver was heading down that circular on-ramp was his truck tipped over. Fuel leaked from the truck and the haz-mat team was called to the scene to clean up the spill.
An officer on the scene says the driver, Bryant Gardner of Omaha, was taken to the hospital in cautionary critical condition, with an injury to his head. He is expected to be okay.
The semi was hauling paper.
