Cleanup began outside Missouri Valley, Iowa Tuesday after a reported tornado destroyed a home and blew rail cars off the track.

A derailment crew was working to get the 54 empty grain cars of a Union Pacific train flipped on their side back on the track.

A short distance away, at 305th and Italy, the home of Kathy Spier lay in complete rubble. Debris and splintered wood remained scattered about after her home was reportedly lifted up from its foundation and thrown approximately 70 feet.

No one was home at the time the house was destroyed. Spier's three dogs survived unharmed.

The road, 305th, remained closed Tuesday morning. The storm blew several power poles to the ground. Utility crews were working to restore power.
