A Cass County sheriff deputy’s attempt to pull over a pickup for having a taillight out turned into a pursuit.
The Cassgram reports that the incident began about 9:30pm on Highway 75 at Osage Ranch near Plattsmouth.
The incident narrative says the pickup failed to stop and a chase then ensued westbound on Highway 66, then south on 24th Street to Mynard Road west and then south again crossing Highway 1 with speeds at times reaching 100 mph. The pursuit was abandoned when the vehicle went onto a minimum maintenance road.
Later investigation led the deputy to a residence where a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle was located, according to the report. No one responded to the door. The vehicle was towed.
