Nebraska has suspended the license of a family doctor in Beatrice pending a hearing on allegations that he improperly prescribed controlled substances.
In the order, Attorney General Jon Bruning says the continued practice by Dr. Hai Hung Tran would "constitute an imminent danger to public health and safety."
Tran allegedly prescribed the painkiller hydrocodone last October and November to a patient who didn't indicate she was in pain. Tran also didn't have a doctor-patient relationship with the woman.
The order lists five other patients who received a total of 192 prescriptions for controlled substances.
A closed-door hearing is set for April 3.
