A 39-year-old Columbus woman stands accused of stealing more than $50,000 from the doctor's office where she worked as an office manager. Amy Newman was arrested by Columbus police this week.

A 39-year-old Columbus woman stands accused of stealing more than $50,000 from the doctor's office where she worked as an office manager. Amy Newman was arrested by Columbus police this week.

Newman is accused of stealing more than $50,000 from Columbus Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Clinic, using credit cards fraudulently taken out in the clinic's name and forged checks.

She appeared in Platte County Court Wednesday for a bail hearing on 12 counts of forgery and one count of theft. Her cash bond was set at $2,500. She is to appear in court on the charges on Feb. 18.
