Carter Lake Police made quick work of a bank robbery investigation Monday morning, making an arrest soon after the crime was committed.

The People’s Bank and Trust near 13th and Locust was held up around 9:15 a.m. Investigators say a man walked in moments after the bank opened. He did not show a gun, but demanded money.

An officer in the area spotted a man holding a bag with red mist coming out. The mist was from die packs hidden in the money. Seconds later the officer heard the robbery call.

Fifty-one-year-old Michael Rae was arrested across the street from the bank on the south side of Locust and booked for robbery.
