A Union Pacific employee was killed Wednesday morning after being struck by a train in a Council Bluffs rail yard.

Investigators say 41-year-old Craig Lang of Neola, Iowa stepped off a train he was riding and was hit by a train going in the same direction around 6 a.m. in the yard between Big Lake Road and North 8th Street.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
