Fire marshal warns of scam in NP
The Nebraska fire marshal says we should all be wary of anyone trying to sell fire alarm systems, especially if we have new babies at home.
Several cases are popping up in North Platte.
According to the Associated Press, State Fire Marshal John Falgione says the unknown individual is identifying himself as a state employee to gain access to conduct a so-called inspection.
Falgione says the person is apparently targeting the homes of new parents, but the reason is a mystery.
Keep in mind, any legitimate inspections are done by someone in full uniform with appropriate identification -- and they would not be trying to sell fire alarms.
