Two people were injured Tuesday morning when a car and a snow plow collided in Cass County, Nebraska. The crash happened near Manley just before 9a.m.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Department says Cole Rhoades, 21, of Plattsmouth was southbound on Highway 50 in a Nebraska Department of Roads snow plow when he attempted to turn around at the intersection of Highway 1. That’s when a four-door Chevrolet sedan driven by Rachel Tipton, 22, of Weeping Water, ran into the blade of the snow plow.

Tipton had to be extricated from her car. She was transported by ambulance to the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Rhoades was taken to Midlands Hospital in Papillion for minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Department says blowing snow may have been a factor in the crash.
