A young woman has been sentenced to spend a half year in prison for motor vehicle homicide. The October 2007 case underscored the issue of underage drinkers and bartenders who serve them.
It was October 2007 when Lisa Conway crashed her car just northwest of Omaha’s Memorial Park. She was 20-years old at the time. Conway’s 20-year old passenger, Ned Sariscasany was killed. Another passenger suffered less serious injuries.
Conway was sentenced Thursday to serve 180 days in jail plus five years probation for motor vehicle homicide.
After the crash, a bartender at a bar at 74th and Pacific was issued three criminal citations for serving alcohol to the underage drinkers. However, those citations were later dismissed. In a separate case, the same woman, Victoria J. Dyer, was cited again in May 2008 for the same offense. She was sentenced in August to 2 years probation.
