The City of La Vista and the La Vista Area Chamber of Commerce will welcome in the holiday season on Monday, December 1 with the annual Tree Lighting and Soup Supper.

It is open to the public and will be held at La Vista City Hall and Community Center, 8116 Park View Blvd., at 6 p.m.

Santa will light the outdoor tree. After the tree lighting, Santa will be available in the Community Center to listen to children’s wishes.

Other activities include Holiday entertainment, a soup/chili supper (served by Mayor Doug Kindig and the La Vista City Council), a tree decorating competition and hot chocolate and cookies.

The soup supper is a fund raiser for the local food bank and a $1 donation is requested.
