Channel -6- News has learned a Jaguar, covered in spittle and loogeys, should not have been in a handicapped stall.

According to the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles, the driver of the Jaguar, has not applied for, nor received any handicapped parking privileges.

The Heartland man filed a report with Omaha Police, claiming someone had damaged his car, by spitting on it.

The police report reads like vigilante justice in a politically correct time.

The 31-year old Bellevue man tells police that on Saturday, November 8th, he was shopping at the Walmart at 169th and Maple. When he came out of the store he noticed his 2000 Jaguar S-type was covered in spittle and blobs of snot.

The car was parked in one of the store's handicapped parking spaces.

According to the report the manager of the store checked the video surveillance system and did find a white car that pulled up behind the Jaguar, four people get out and start spitting on the car.

There is no record of a citation being issued to the driver of the Jaguar.

How can you blame this on OPD?!? They HAVE to respond when called. Why not blame the non-handicap having moron who called in the complaint?

anon, you're right; you don't have to be rich to drive an old Jaguar. But that's the interesting thing about hate crimes: it's all in the perception of the victim. Like, if you wave at a person of another race (except white, of course), and that person perceives you intended to insult him, the law recognizes that you intended to insult him, regardless of your actual intent. So, if the driver believes the perpetrators believe a person driving an old Jaguar is of high financial means, and if the driver believes financial status was the motive for their actions, then the law will find them guilty of a hate crime. If the driver believes it was motivated by financial envy, it doesn't matter if they actually spat on his car because he was in a handicapped spot.

Tough luck fancypants. Try to follow the rules next time and park with the commoners.

Chadsworth or whatever this lowlife's name is should be glad that he didn't get spat on for being such moron. It takes a lot of arrogance to call police over something so trival while being illegally parked. Here's hoping the guy learns a lesson.

Hilarious, Biff thinks he can park his car wherever the heck he wants and then has the audacity to bug the cops when it gets spat on. The whimsy keeps on rolling.

If I had seen a Jaguar parked in a handicapped spot at Walmart, I probably would have spit on it too. He's lucky that's all they did.

Well if he didnt have a handicap sticker give him his fine as its on videotape to prove it, and let him be on his way. I agree spit is easily washable and better than physical damage.

With a car that has a list value of $8800, doesnt really clasify it as a hi-valued car. Maybee in some smalltown in Iowa but a 9 year old Jaguar in west Omaha should be classified as just another car. Or just another car parked in a handicapped stall with out permit? (resourses found via kbb.com)

Sorry, Jason, but this is differnt. This is a hate crime, because of the victim's financial status.

Seems as though the purse-snatching incidences increased with the media coverage; hope that's not the case with this......ewwwww! I also hope the Jaguar driver truly had the handicapped parking privileges...not that he 'deserves' this if he didn't, but one imagines that could've been the losers' rationale for doing this.

Are you kidding me? We can not even get the police to come to our house in Dundee or call us back when the mirror was broken out or when the window was broken by a group of teens. And we had a video of them doing the vandalizing. But it makes news and a police report that someone spit on the car! I would rather have someone spit where I could wash it off vs. a broken window that cost $200 to repair. Nice work OPD.

Between this guy and the lady who had 20 cents taken from her UNLOCKED car people "victims" are losing their minds. The community wonders why we (the police) cannot get anything done about real crime - it's because of calls like this. I'm all about the zero tolerence of "lesser" crimes which then will help to curb the "major" crimes but this is getting silly. Lock your cars, go through a car wash and grow some thick skin. You forgot to lock your car and lost 20 cents - cheap lesson to learn. Just because you own a Jaguar doesn't mean you need all this attention. There are real victims out there. Commone sense SHOULD prevail in these loosely termed cases. Sad part is the "victims" will whine and call about nothing being done - because there isn't anything to do - especially in the spit case. Lastly it must be a slow news week for all stations to run these stories - unless they're being run to make these "victims" look silly - then it's working.
