A $25,000 reward is being offered for information in a string of bank robberies in the Omaha metro area. Omaha Police released details of the reward at a news conference Wednesday morning.

Police and the FBI believe four to six people are involved and are suspected of holding up area banks.

They believe the suspects were involved in at least five bank hold-ups and think they might also be linked to two other robberies.

The reward money is being offered by the Nebraska Bankers Association.

NBA spokesperson Joni Sundquist says, "We know there are individuals in the area with information on these robberies."

The FBI believes the robbers will keep going until they're caught.

Paul Lacotti, Special Agent in Charge of the bureau's Omaha office says, "We'd like to get these robbers off the street before something additional happens that might be worse than what's already happened in the robberies that have been conducted over the last nine months."

Omaha Police Captain Mike Butera echoed Lacotti's safety concerns saying, "We want to make sure these individuals are apprehended without incident. And so our concern is for the safety of the community and the safety of the personnel in the banks and for officers that are responding to the scene."

Authorities say the men might be spending beyond normal means, either on merchandise or drugs.
