Another child has been abandoned at a Nebraska hospital under the state's much-criticized safe-haven law.
Alegent Health spokeswoman Kelly Grinnell said a child was abandoned at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha Monday afternoon. But Grinnell said she couldn't provide any details about the case, including the child's age or who left the child.
If the child's status is confirmed by the state, it would be the 27th child dropped off under provisions of the law since it took effect in July. Two other teenagers were abandoned at Nebraska hospitals over the weekend.
A spokeswoman for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services did not immediately respond to a message left Monday evening.
