Police have a student in custody after he allegedly caused a stir at UNL, waving a toy gun and yelling at other students to "get down on the ground, get on the ground."

It all happened around 1:00 p.m. on Monday when UNL police received phone calls from witnesses.

The witnesses said the man was waving the gun on the first floor of Richards Hall on the UNL campus.

It was reported that students left the immediate area, some leaving a classroom through a window. No one was reported as being injured.

The man fled before police arrived on scene.

Police had their suspect in sight about 15 minutes after the incident. The suspect, 24 year old Ryan Labenz, was arrested at his residence off campus.

He was booked for making terroristic threats.

No UNL Alert was sent because the student was apprehended so quickly.
