Police are cracking down on ticket scalping at the College World Series and several people have already been cited. Ticket scalping is illegal when it happens within a half of a mile from the stadium.
Three people were arrested on Monday for ticket scalping: Greg Pivovar, who is a Bellevue Defense Attorney, Robert Liddick and Randy Schufeldt.
Police confiscated 170 reserve tickets, four general admission tickets and $2,500 in cash.
Clerks had no comment when asked about the arrests.
Ticket sales went on as usual and some salesmen say they always ask for nothing more than face value for tickets.
Some fans are willing to pay more to see the baseball game. Steven Schnieder says that he has run into tickets being sold next to the stadium for more than face value.
"Not this year, I haven't, but last year I did," said Schneider.
Schneider sometimes gets a deal on ticket prices.
"Usually I do. I wait right before the game and they get a little desperate and unload their tickets. Sometimes I get them cheaper," said Schneider.
Police say they stopped at Stadiumview Sportscards after receiving several complaints from the public.
Calls made to Greg Pivovar were not returned.
