A two-vehicle collision west of Springfield Sunday evening sent one driver to the hospital via the LifeFlight medical helicopter.

Sarpy County deputies say a car southbound on 168th Street and a pickup heading west on Platteview Road collided just after 6 p.m.

The driver of the pickup was less seriously injured. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

"There were two witnesses and then also the one party that went by squad was able to give information, the party taken out of the vehicle was not able to provide information yet,” said Sarpy County Deputy Sgt. Elizabeth Oliver.

The drivers' names have not been released. Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
