The dean of the University of Nebraska College of Law says schools should be allowed to admit minority students, even if they have lower test scores than whites who are turned down.

Steven Willborn says minority students help diversify opinions in classroom discussions and that they are needed.

Willborn's comments were in response to a study released Wednesday by an anti-affirmative action group that accuses the law college of discriminating against white students when it comes to admissions.

Willborn questioned the findings and said the college never provided the Center for Equal Opportunity with data that showed the race of students.

The center also studied undergraduate admissions to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and said there was no evidence of discrimination.
