The Omaha Police Department confirms that 12-year-old Amber Harris died as a result of blunt force trauma. The child disappeared in November and her remains were found in Hummel Park last month.

The autopsy revealed the cause of death and the information was formally released by police on Wednesday.

The investigation has now turned to a search for Amber's killer.

Until the child's remains were found, the only key evidence to surface was a book bag that she owned. It turned up in a trash can near 21st and Lake on February 14.
