Candy Recall
A San Antonio company has recalled some Mexican candies due to dangerously high lead levels. People are advised not to eat Ed La Rose Pulparindo Candy. In addition, health officials have suggested that consumers not eat the following products that may contain lead: Picarindo, Vero Rebanaditas, Vero Mango, Vero Elotes, Chaca Chaca, Brinquitos, Tama Roca, Pelon Pelo Rico, Bolirindo, Dulce de Tamarindo, Licona Tamarind, Jarrita Chonita, Margarita Dulce de Tamarindo, Rollito de Tamarindo (Dulmex),Strock Eucalyptus, Lucas Acidito, Pica Limon, Serpentinas and Tablarindo.
Lead exposure can be harmful, especially for infants, young children and pregnant women.

Miracles Recovery Program

The program is run by Bill Keck, in recovery for 28 years. He started Miracles Recovery Center at Siena Francis House 13 years ago.
Thirty-three percent seeking treatment and who complete the program stay clean for at least a year
Ten people who went through the program now have college degrees and are counseling at other facilities
The program currently serves 21 women. Newly remodeled treatment center will handle 40 women but there will still be a waiting list
There is no charge to enter the program but clients do have to work in the facility 40 hours a week. It's a four-month commitment
