Graffiti is a problem that makes its way back to the streets every year during springtime, but there is someone to call when your property is tagged.
Robert's Park draws in a crowd that likes to express themselves on wheels and also using spray paint.
Some skaters think the graffiti is fun to look at. Rollerblader, Logan Berry likes some of the art that he sees.
"Yeah, the rabbit is cool; I think he's pretty tight," said Berry. "It's cool colors, like when they first did it, it was neon."
Jeff Nicola of Omaha Public Works uses a power wash method to remove graffiti. He sprays on a chemical and then a strong spray of water and the graffiti is gone.
Another option is simply to paint over the graffiti. The city has a graffiti van that is capable of matching paint colors with a computer program. During this time of the year, both methods are used often.
"We notice there is an increase form the winter weather into the spring," said Bob Stubbe, Omaha Public Works.
Due to the mild winter weather, cleaners were able to work through the winter months.
"This year through April we've done a little over a thousand locations where we've done either a power wash or it would be a paint," said Stubbe.
Nicola says he will cover anywhere from ten to twenty jobs in one day.
If you spot graffiti you can call the Mayor's hotline at 444-5555. Permission to paint or power wash is required and there is no charge.
