The two men accused of killing a Cass County couple will stand trial for murder. Matthew Livers and Nicolas Sampson waived their preliminary hearings on Tuesday.

Livers and Sampson are accused of killing Wayne and Sharmon Stock. Their bodies were found in their home near Murdock, Nebraska on April 17th. Both had been shot in the head at close range with a shotgun.

The motive for a double homicide has yet to be unveiled and the waiving of the preliminary hearing kept the lid on additional information about the case.

Nicholas Sampson, 22, of Palmyra, and Matthew Livers, 28, of Lincoln, each face two counts of first-degree murder and use of a firearm to commit a felony. They remain jailed without bond.

The Stocks were well-known in the town of 276 people. Wayne Stock, 58, was a farmer. Sharmon, 55, had worked as a teacher's aide.
