Two Omaha teenagers were wounded in separate shootings Friday night and Saturday morning.

The first happened around 11:30 p.m. near 36th Avenue and Ames. Police say 19-year-old Antonio Dortch was shot and taken to Creighton University Medical Center with injuries not considered to be life threatening.

Police stopped a car believed to be the suspects' vehicle near 24th and Taylor a short time later. Two were arrested for felony possession of a stolen gun and felony assault, 18-year-old Michael Nauden of Omaha and a juvenile male whose name is not being released.

A third person in the car ran from the scene and could not be found.

Four hours later, around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, 15-year-old Dionte Dortch walked into the Nebraska Medical Center suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot.

Dortch told police he was shot near 44th and Emmet streets. Police do not have any suspects at this time. Dortch is expected to be okay.

Police do not know if the two victims are related or if the shootings are connected.

Dave it actually takes a village to raise a kid, some single parents cant be home and have to work two jobs in order to take care of their kids, like mother said Aug 31 it's easy to sit at your PC and make nasty comments until it hits home and yours might think to shoot everyone in the home or shoot a group of innocent people

To MOther..the only way to fix it is to hold the parents responsible for their kids actions when they are under 18. Maybe then the parents looking at life in prison or the death penalty will help them make sure they know where their kids are 24/7,who they are with and what they are doing. It is NOT anyones elses responsibility except the parents and the criminals to change things...PERIOD!

We should be releasing all names of people involved. If he is old enough to be with someone shotting at another person,he is old enough to have his name released.

ok really, people of Omaha and near by areas - instead of casting stones at our youth, our future....offer a hand to help! There are always going to be people in the world who do not give a rats butt for their children, this has been happening for years...rather sitting at your PC, giving out words of disrespect, and views on parenting or lack of - volunteer to work with the youth in areas where there is less direction. It does not take much time to make friends with a young one and give them the chance to look up to someone who can show them a better way. Yet 90% of Omahans sit home, ride in super nice autos and talk nasty about things they are not willing to help change. It is on the lines of politics - you can speak on topics if you dont vote. If you dont help the youth keep your words to yourself. We are ripping them to shreds before we even try to show them a better way. Often the just need to know they can trust and they will come around. If this makes you mad, get over it!

And once again. WTH is there a 15 year old out at 3:30am?

That's what they are. Commit crimes and scurry off like vermin. Too bad these people weren't raised better. They are a tax on society.
