The mother of the victim in an alleged sexual assault involving two former University of Iowa football players says school officials pressed her daughter to keep the matter quiet.

Those officials include Athletic Director Gary Barta and coach Kirk Ferentz, according to a copyright story by the Iowa City Press-Citizen.

The allegations against school officials were made in a letter sent last fall to University of Iowa officials. The alleged victim's mother provided a copy of the letter to the Press-Citizen and says the "University of Iowa's character was nonexistent" during the incident.

The two former players, Abe Satterfield and Cedric Everson, are accused of sexually assaulting the alleged victim, a University of Iowa student athlete, last October.

Everson has been charged with second-degree sexual assault and Satterfield has been charged with second and third-degree sexual assault.

Meanwhile, police in Iowa City say an incoming freshman on the Iowa football team will pay a hefty fine after stripping in an alley, then leading officers on a drunken foot chase through downtown Iowa City.

Riley Reiff is expected to plead guilty to charges of public intoxication and interference with official acts and will pay a $562 fine.
