Omaha Mayor Mike Fahey has announced a new director for the city planning department.
Steven Jensen has been serving as interim director and will now assume the director's duties on a permanent basis.
Jensen is a 30-year employee of the city and he says as tempting as retirement sounds, he's going to stay on the job full time.
Jensen says, "All the things we've talked about, it's an exciting time for the city."
Mayor Fahey also announced that a new neighborhood cabinet will be formed. It will be made up of police, public works employees and members of the planning department.
