LSU fans are regulars at the College World Series, even when the Tigers don't make it to Omaha. They certainly add a lot of flavor to the festivities.
Mix in a painted face, a little Cajun and you get breakfast LSU style. "We're cooking some alligator strips." Most call it bacon, but no matter the name, it goes great with eggs.
"We're going to salt and pepper these eggs, throw a little milk in there and we'll scramble them up and put them on the grill," said LSU fan Ronnie Shelby.
"Breakfast of champions, LSU champions," said fan Pat Mabray. "Red Bull and vodka, that's called ‘tiger sauce’ down south."
If you're an LSU fan, this is the real thing. "This is seafood gumbo, crab and shrimp gumbo," said fan Charlie Radcliff. "You have to start with a good roux, that's a little oil and flour and you turn it brown and you add a lot of onions and celery and bell peppers and seasoning."
Along LSU tailgating row, they top all of that off with something called beer ball and a game of ladder golf. "You throw golf balls on the PVC and you get three points for the top rung, two for the middle and one for the bottom."
LSU fans were very excited about their team's 6-5 ninth-inning win Tuesday afternoon to keep them alive in the College World Series.
