A 2-year-old Omaha girl is recovering after being hit by her mother's SUV backing out of a driveway Saturday afternoon.
Police say Alaya Grayer was dropped off at a baby-sitter's residence near North 38th and Chicago streets just before 4 p.m. When her mother began to drive away, the girl ran from the front porch toward the vehicle and became pinned between the front passenger side tire and fender.
Grayer was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center for treatment of a broken femur and multiple abrasions.
