More than two dozen weapons have been seized from the home of a fifth suspect identified Friday in connection with an ID theft investigation. The case came to light last week.

The fifth person is identified as 46-year-old James Asmus of Omaha.

Sheriff Tim Dunning says the weapons were seized from his home at 5071 S. 173rd Street in Omaha. He faces methamphetamine possession charges and the sheriff says that weapons charges are pending.

Sheriff Dunning says the items seized include assault-style rifles. He says deputies also confiscated two suspected firearm silencers, night vision goggles and approximately 1/2 ounce of methamphetamine. The sheriff says that one of the firearms was stolen.

Four people were arrested last week at the downtown Marriott Hotel.

One of those suspects, 32-year-old Jason Galle, got into a fight with deputy Mike Smith. Authorities say Galle struck Smith in the head with a heavy, ornamental vase and Deputy Smith shot and injured Galle.

Aside from Galle, authorities arrested 23-year-old Dana McCoy, 37-year-old Eldrid Dightman and 22-year-old Daniel Luichinger last week.

Deputies were investigating the use of a stolen credit card at the hotel when the case came to light.

Sheriff Dunning said Friday that his office has concluded Deputy Smith acted properly when he fired at Galle in the altercation at the hotel.

The sheriff said Smith fired the weapon, "in an effort to protect himself and his partner from a suspect willing to use deadly force to escape his crimes."

Dunning say that Deputy Smith has fully recovered from the head injury he suffered in the fight with Galle.

Are you surprised that the Law Enforcement Officers found, rather, SEIZED those VERY serious weapons? Well, you shouldn't be. People are getting more & more absolutely crazier & loonier- more & more desperate! Why? Because!, they are getting more & more frustrated. People are starting to `hate! Soo much, that they are preparing to TAKE! instead of going about getting their way by asking, seeking, knocking & applying themselves according to the `Rules & Order that the `System of this `Day & `Age tenaciously believes in, up-holds & supports. The `System of life in the US is about as good as it's going to get. Life in the US probably will not return to the good `ole days anytime soon. There will be FEW who will prosper but MANY who will NOT & thus/hence the life-long struggle/fight! between good & evil will continue. Are the Bad guys at all justified in some of the things they'll do? If the System of Law Enforcement is flawed then justification will be claimed. Judges!- judge right! :-|

all meth users, dealers and manufactures should get life in prison on the first offense. Everyother illegal drug after the second offense. Drugs are for losers and you deserve to be punished to the extreme
