The sex abuse trial of James Bentley is scheduled for July 28 in Osceola.

The Vinton man is accused in Benton and Linn counties of molesting Jetseta Gage in 2004.

The Cedar Rapids girl was 10 when she was kidnapped and killed by Bentley's brother, Roger Bentley, in 2005.

According to an order filed Wednesday, James Bentley's case in Benton County has been moved to Clarke County because of pretrial publicity. The Linn County case will follow, but a trial date has not been set.

Bentley is currently serving 100 years in federal prison for taking sexually explicit photos of Gage and another child.

The state's case has been delayed by a court fight over a videotape interview of Gage. The trials are proceeding without the videotape.

To Here and Mel: I'm with you all the way. When there is irrefutable evidence, then they should be just a memory within 30 days. Why drag it out? And as far as the innocent ones go, it wouldn't be long before there wouldn't be a problem. If you KNEW that you would die within 30 days for doing the crime, would you still do it?

It is really too bad we can't all demand a refund of taxpayer money for keeping them alive. Scum of the earth - torture, rape, kidnapping, taking pictures - absolutely worthless people who have no place in society AND SHOULD NOT LIVE. Execute them and save the taxpayers from wasting any more money. Other states do it - get with the program.

Too bad Iowa doesn't have the death penalty. These two are classic examples why it should. SCUZZ-BAGS!

I wish we were like some other countries. Day one convicted, all appeals done within 30 days. Then bam you done. And before anyone starts yelling there are innocent ones, well there is. But with overwhelming evidence it shouldn't take yrs for appeals. I say take care of it all in 30 days and save us all a little money for housing these pieces of trash...

They should make him pull the lever and fry his brother, then in turn face the same fate for what he and his brother did. Why is this freak still alive, and his brother??? What is this world coming to that we allow people like them to continue to live? I'm sorry but if someone kills or harms a child they need to be punished harshly and swiftly. Whoever tries to fight for the life of this man, his brother, and all those like them should take a step back and look at what they're really saying. It's along the lines of, "Please have compassion for a person who took the innocence from someone so sacred, caused them so much horror and pain that nobody could save them from, then in the end took their light. Have compassion for them because their victims did not deserve it." You may not say those exact words, but by bleeding your heart in everyone's faces it's what you are truly saying. Like it or not. And before it begins, your god does not exist to everyone. Keep that in mind.

When the evidence is this concrete, there is no reason why the death penalty shouldn't be used. I am a firm believer that when there is 100% evidence such as a picture or confession, death should be administered. Many people think that is inhumane, but we have a right and the need to remove these people from society forever. Paying for the incarceration is a waste and they should be made to face their maker sooner rather than later.

If there was ever a clear cut case to 86 someone off the planet, this is it. He and his brother Roger deserve to be tortured and killed slowly for what they did to that innocent little girl. RIP Jetseta.

this is a prime example of why the death penalty should be used..I don't want my hard earned tax money used to keep this garbage housed and fed!
