Nebraska's U.S. senators are weighing in on President Bush's nomination of White House counsel Harriet Miers to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Senator Ben Nelson says Miers appears to be a sound choice. The Nebraska Democrat says Miers would bring new perspective and balance to the nation's highest court. He says the best scenario for the country would be for Miers to be confirmed with strong support.
Senator Chuck Hagel, a Republican, says he looks forward to getting to know more about Miers during the confirmation process.
Both senators voted to confirm Bush's other Supreme Court selection, the newly installed Chief Justice John Roberts.
