Super Saturday Stimulates Tax Returns
Economic stimulus checks await Hundreds of IRS offices nationwide were open Saturday for a program called Super Saturday. It was a first step for many to make sure they receive their government rebate check.

The rebate check is part of an economic stimulus package and it's in addition to your tax refund, should you be receiving one.
Eligible people will receive up to $600, $1,200 for married couples. Parents will receive an additional $300 for each eligible child younger than 17.

You can refer to the chart to see when yours is scheduled to be sent out. Those mailing dates are based on the last two digits of your Social Security number.
Millions of retirees, disabled veterans and low income workers who usually are exempt from filing a tax return must do so this year in order to receive their rebate check. The stimulus or refund checks don't count as 2008 income.
So many people have so many questions about the economic stimulus payments that the IRS is working overtime to help them all.
This year at the Omaha office, 50 to 60 additional people have come in asking questions just about the stimulus package.
"I have no clue right now," says taxpayer Johnette Lewis. "I'm here to find out what kind of answers they can give me or if perhaps if I do qualify can they assist me filling out the papers."
