An accident involving teenagers occurred just before school Friday morning. The Cassgram reports Cass County Sheriff, Wm. C. Brueggemann provided this report on the three-vehicle injury accident at Highway 1 and Bluff Road southwest of Murdock:
A 2011 Ford F-150 super crew pickup driven by Clinton H. Bornemeier, 18, was eastbound on Highway 1 attempting to turn north onto Bluff Road.
A 1988 Oldsmobile Delta 88 driven by Raeanna C. Jordan, 15, was also eastbound on Highway 1 and was struck from behind by a 1990 Chevy Lumina driven by Hope C. Romine, 17, subsequently forcing the Jordan vehicle to strike the rear of the Bornemeier vehicle.
Jordan was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln by rescue squad with minor head and neck injuries. Cole T. Jones, 17, a front seat passenger in Romine’s vehicle, was transported to Bryan LGH West in Lincoln with a minor head injury.
Romine told the deputy she was unable to stop for the turning traffic because of faulty brakes.
Brueggemann said Romine was cited for no operator’s license on person, following too close, expired license plates and violation of provisional operators permit for having persons other than siblings in her vehicle.
All occupants advised they were wearing seatbelts. Alcohol was not a factor.
Morning traffic to Elmwood-Murdock High School was re-routed.
