An Omaha man had planned to surprise his wife with great concert seats but things didn't go as planned.
The minute tickets to the Neil Diamond show went on sale, Bruce Klein thought he had hit the jackpot. Ticketmaster had four tickets on the Qwest Center floor for the July performance.
"I was in heaven," Klein says. "I was euphoric."
Bruce thought he had a golden opportunity to get tickets to the concert. All he had to do was punch in his credit card in two minutes and the tickets were his.
But the Ticketmaster site kept telling Bruce that there was a problem processing his credit card or three-digit ID.
He re-entered the numbers again and again until he was informed, "You exceeded the time limit. The tickets have been released. So I went from being euphoric one minute to being raging made the next."
Bruce called Visa and confirmed that the problem was not the amount of credit on his credit card.
Looking back on the failed attempt to buy the tickets he says, "The screen should default to an operator or give you a number to call to call someone to say here's the problem I'm having and help you get through so you don't lose the tickets."
Later in the week, Klein found other tickets to the concert but they weren't nearly as good as the ones he missed out on so he passed.
Ticketmaster says it's looking into why the credit card wasn't processed. Representatives tell Six on Your Side that, in this case, seats will be offered to Bruce Klein near the stage.
If you plan on buying concert tickets in the future it's suggested you set up an account with Ticketmaster before purchasing online.
