One man was killed and another critically injured in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday night on Highway 75, about two miles north of I-680 between Omaha and Fort Calhoun.

The driver of the car is identified as 54-yar-old Stan Morton. The passenger was 32-year-old Charles Hudson. Hudson remained in critical condition on Thursday.

Morton, heading southbound, apparently lost control of the car just after 9 p.m. It left the road and the driver overcorrected, causing the car to roll several times leaving a debris field measuring the length of two football fields.

Morton was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hudson was taken to Creighton University Medical Center.

We often encounter high-speed rivers when we travel this stretch of road (which fortunately is not that often). PLEASE slow down, people.
