A serval on the loose has found a new home. The big cat was captured Wednesday at 59th and Franklin.
The Humane Society has turned the cat over to Kip and Stacy Smith who operate the Wildlife Encounters sanctuary in Sarpy County.
Officials say that the owner of the animal bagged in Omaha Wednesday was warned a year ago that the cat had to go. The animal was reportedly moved but the owner brought him back to town.
The owner was reportedly out of town when the serval got loose. Someone was supposed to be watching the cat but it slipped out when a door was accidentally left open.
