An Omaha judge Tuesday denied bond for a man accused of murder.

Twenty-four-year-old Juan Vasquez was arrested by U.S. Marshals in El Paso, Texas on February 8th. He is accused of one count of first-degree murder in the 2006 death of Jose Chacon, and one count of attempted first-degree murder.

A public defender has been appointed to the case. If convicted, Vasquez faces life in prison or the death penalty.

The shooting happened in July of 2006 at 3121 South 21st Street. Chacon was critically injured and later died in the hospital. Angel Guzman was injured in the incident.

Two other arrests have already been made in the case.
