Douglas County Sheriff's investigators have arrested 20-year-old Jeremy J. Hammel for felony child abuse.

The victim, a three-month-old boy, was taken to the hospital on Monday. The child's mother brought her son in after noticing that he had not been eating well.

The child was suffering from several broken ribs and a broken leg and the medical staff alerted law enforcement authorities.

The investigation led deputies to Hammel, the boyfriend of the child's mother.

The mother is not accused of any wrongdoing.
