Two pit bulls are credited with coming to the aid of their owner Monday after the woman was attacked by another dog.
The victim's boyfriend says the pit bulls saved her life.
Witnesses say a chow attacked Angie Pecoraro in front of her house. They say they believe that her injuries could have been worse if not for the woman's two pit bulls.
The dogs climbed their fence and fought off the chow.
Witness Laurie Hagen says, "Both pits were on the chow and Angie was laying with her hands over her face. And the chow was just biting at her stomach, her legs."
The owner of the chow was cited for not restraining his dog and for harboring a vicious animal.
The victim's boyfriend said that Angie's injuries were not considered serious enough to keep her overnight in the hospital.
As for the chow, the Humane Society will keep it until its owner has his day in court.
