It turns out that an Amber Alert issued Saturday night for a 6-year-old Bettendorf, Iowa boy was based on a false report filed by the child's mother.

Now 28-year-old Bobbie Joann Freeman has been charged with filing a false police report claiming her son Nicholas Austin Arnold was missing.

Bettendorf police have determined that the man originially identified as a suspect in the Amber Alert, Gary Eric Arnold, turned out to be the boy's caregiver. Nicholas Arnold was located soon after the alert was issued and was not in any danger.

Channel 6 viewers may have seen the Amber Alert cross their screen during the NBC program Saturday Night Live last weekend.
