The time has come to say goodbye as Pat Persaud steps down.
Pat has decided to enter retirement early and take on the new job of being a full-time wife and mom. Pat has been a part of the Channel 6 News team for more than 19 years.
She began her career at Channel 6 in 1986. During her tenure she has
anchored Midday, Weekends, Mornings and most recently has been co-anchor of the 5, 6, and 10 p.m. newscasts. In addition, Pat has done extensive health reporting as part of our daily Family Healthcasts.
Quoting from her resignation letter, "No doubt, I will miss my time at
Channel 6 and working with so many good people. Not the least.the three guys work with every night. We've been a great team. I truly respect the talent and genuineness of each of them. They've helped me become a better anchor through the years. Can I dare say that maybe I've had a little influence on them too?! I'm also very proud of the work I've done. Proud of the people we 've helped with our health reporting over the years.proud to have tackled subjects that were once taboo on TV.proud to have been a woman of color anchoring the main newscasts in the city of Omaha.proud to have cooperatively taken us to number one and still there for ten years. Together we've accomplished so much for so long."
Pat's last day with WOWT will be May 25. Pat will be missed greatly and we wish her the very best.
