Omaha police say the girl reports that a man with a gun tried to force her to go with him.
Police say the girl and her brothers were on their way to King Science Center, walking along Florence Blvd. between Emmet St and Pinkney St., when the girl says the man approached her from behind and tried to grab her.
The girl's brother, police say, heard her yelling and came to her aid. The brother says he pushed the man and he ran off.
"Very scared, and shocked that his happened to me," said the alleged victim, Shaunnessy King. "This might happen again, and I'm scared he's going to come and do it again and try to get me for sure."
The children then ran back home, where they contacted authorities.
"The scariest part for me was finding out he had a gun on her, and then my son he reacted and not thinking this man has a gun. I could've lost both of my kids today, not just one but two," said Albertine King, Shaunnessy's mother.
The man is described as a black male in his 20's with a mustache. He's believed to be between 5'6"-5'10". Police are continuing to investigate the incident. If you have any information on this case contact the Omaha Police Department at 444-7867.
