A man was hit and killed by a train near Waterloo, Nebraska Sunday morning.
Rescue crews were called to the tracks between Waterloo and Elkhorn in western Douglas County around 5 a.m. after a Union Pacific train reported hitting a person.
It took time for the train to come to a complete stop. The victim’s body was found about 40 minutes later. His name has not been released. His pickup was parked next to the tracks.
