A disturbing discovery: a father stumbles across evidence his daughter was sexually assaulted. At the time, she was 11-years-old.
Omaha police believe Artemio Nieves-Leyva committed these acts against her, inside her home. The girl told police Nieves-Leyva would threaten her, telling her that he "wouldn't take her to school unless she let him take pictures of her."
The victim's father found pictures of the assaults on a camera-card belonging to Nieves-Leyva. Among other things, the father saw pictures of Nieves-Leyva "sucking on his daughter's breast."
The victim's father called police. When the victim spoke with police, she told them Nieves-Leyva "touched her whole body with his hands, when some of her clothes were off."
Nieves-Leyva would have to pay $15,000 if he wants out on bond. If Nieves-Leyva is convicted, he could face up to 55 years in prison. The mandatory minimum is 3 years.
