The recall group, headed by Jeremy Aspen, filled out the recall affidavit Friday morning. The Douglas County Election Commission will now notify Mayor Suttle.
The recall committee lists excessive taxes, broken promises, and a union deal that cost taxpayers millions of dollars as the reasons behind the effort.
The mayor has 20 days to respond once he receives the notification, according to Douglas County Election Commissioner Dave Phipps.
The entire process could take until next summer.
