A Boys Town spokeswoman says no children have
been mistreated at its Omaha facilities for troubled youth.
But Kara Neuverth says a recent review did uncover some issues that needed to be corrected, which leadership quickly addressed.
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services has stopped sending troubled youth to two Boys Town programs after a review uncovered improper treatment of children and teens.
HHS spokeswoman Jeanne Atkinson says referrals to both programs were suspended on Aug. 26, and Boys Town has already started addressing the problems cited in the review.
Neuverth says Boys Town expects the suspension to be lifted upon acceptance of its corrective action plan by Magellan, Medicaid's managed care contractor.
