Accident Scene Yields Weapon

One vehicle accident leads to discovery of more than a victim.

Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann says deputies responded to the area of Highway 75 and Adams Street just after 10pm. A passerby stated that there was a vehicle in the ditch. Deputies found 52-year-old David C. Duncan of Omaha complaining that he could not breathe.

The Cassgram reports that Union Rescue and Nehawka Rescue responded. While rescue workers were on scene, Duncan stopped breathing. Rescue workers were able to get him breathing again and LifeNet took him to Creighton University Medical Center.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident. K3 (a marijuana-like substance), drug paraphernalia, a small amount of marijuana and a loaded handgun were also retrieved from the vehicle, says Brueggemann.
