Ted Yeater and his wife went to the Old Market for lunch but left with heartburn over a private parking ticket.
They paid $5.00 to park in a central parking system lot. When returning to their car a ticket was also on the windshield Ted said, “On top of the parking notice was the ticket with a $60 fine.”
Ted said he received a receipt from the parking attendant he sent to the parking lot owner’s collection agency. However the Yeaters still received a threatening letter to pay the fine or face collection proceedings.
Six On Your Side investigated and found it appears the ticket was a mistake.
Curtis Tracy with Central Parking System said, “When we do violations we take pictures of the dash to verify payment. So the collection manager will take it out of the system.”
The ticket was dismissed saving the Yeaters a black mark on their credit can $60 they can use on dinner and parking in the Old Market.
